Window Film and Tint Care: How to Clean and Protect Your Investment

Short answer
Let new film cure before cleaning — usually several days, longer in cool weather. After that, clean with a soft microfiber cloth or squeegee and an ammonia-free cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads, razor blades and ammonia products. Slight haze or small water pockets during curing are normal and typically clear on their own.
During curing
- Don't roll car windows down for the recommended period
- Don't clean the film surface until curing is complete
- Slight haze or water pockets are normal and usually fade
Everyday cleaning
- Soft microfiber cloth or rubber squeegee
- Ammonia-free cleaner or mild soap and water
- Wipe gently; don't scrub edges
What to avoid
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Abrasive pads, scrapers and razor blades on the film
- Sticking suction cups or tape directly to the film
- Seat belts and cargo rubbing against tinted edges
